Next on The Agenda: Australian Politics – the year gone and the year ahead

This week’s episode of The Agenda is going to be absolutely massive and possibly one of the last shows during the festive season. The team will be broadcasting live and loud from 5:30pm AEDT. (We hear they’re planning something big before the new year though so keep an eye out for that.)

But back to this show ahead. They’ve been working on special show.

Now that the Australian federal parliament has risen for the long summer break, it’s time to reflect on the year that was. It’s also a great time to do some navel gazing and consider what the year ahead may look like. There is definitely so much to discuss including the relentless negativity and hyperbole of the Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott and the poor decisions of the Labor Government on policy matters.

We’re not sure what they’re planning to rant and rave about so you better tune in to find out the details and gossip they’ve mustered up for the show.  If you can’t wait for the show to start you catch some past shows on demand at Blog Talk Radio or using the media player in the right hand nav bar.

Make sure you join the team and vent your spleen live from 5:30pm AEDT

Next on The Agenda: US elections, Thomson-obsession and more

Australian politics may seem like a strange beast to the international observer and by listening to Rant n Rave Radio’s The Agenda you’ll find out much more about how our country’s politics works. You might be surprised to discover significant similarities with your own country. Of course we cover international issues too so make sure you join the team live from 5.30pm AEDT on Sunday.

But this week threw up some excellent shenanigans, once again. If we’ve learned anything from having a minority government is that they can be highly entertaining and politically engaging governments to have.

In this week’s broadcast Greg and Alex cover:

  • The media’s obsession wiht the ‘Craig Thomson’ saga
  • Elections in the US
  • First Nations’ languages and
  • More!

It’s talk-back internet radio –  join in and vent your spleen with the team on Sunday from 5.30pm AEDT.

Is education gonski?

The hot debate for the week is without doubt the federal government’s response to the most recent review of our education funding – the Gonski Review.

Pick up any newspaper around the country and you’ll find something about Gonski.

And you guessed it, Gonski is going to be on The Agenda, broadcasting live from 5:30pm AEST.

Since this is Rant n Rave Radio, we want to know what you think about the Gonski Review and the federal government’s response.

Is education gonski?

We love a good debate but keep it clean.

UPDATE: NOW BROADCASTING FROM 6PM

Now including the Northern Territory election results

Sunday is going to be a huge show for Rant n Rave Radio’s The Agenda.

Another interesting week has passed in Australia’s federal parliament after the long winter recess. And true to form the politics have gotten ugly quickly.

But this week has been notable for a couple of things:

1. The Australian Parliament passed draconian digital surveillance laws, and

2. The Leader of the Opposition found himself in hot water trying to make political mileage from BHP’s decision to cancel the extension to the Olympic Dam uranium mine.

So it is that Greg and Alex will vent their spleen on Sunday from 5.30pm AEST about:

  • Australia’s new path to a police state,
  • the price on pollution and social impacts,
  • multiculturalism, and
  • much, much more.

It’s live and uncensored; and it’s live talk-back internet radio. Join the team and vent your spleen!
